Our client had previously engaged with a larger consultancy to revamp their employee recruitment process. Despite extensive documentation, they struggled to translate this into a meaningful experience for candidates, hiring managers, and the talent team. They needed actionable steps to deliver the personable and first in class recruitment experience to which they aspired.
We partnered closely with the client, ensuring our efforts wouldn’t result in additional, unimplementable output. We provided clear, actionable objectives, and a workshop design that focused on the human experience that they felt the approach to date had failed to identify. Following significant investment already in external consultants, we ensured that we continuously adapted our approach to meet the client’s evolving needs, ensuring confidence in the final deliverables.
We conducted a thorough review of existing documentation, identifying gaps and building on the content. Our ‘build not replicate’ ethos was central. Leveraging psychological insights, we used a design thinking approach to understand users’ thoughts, feelings, and actions, designing an experience that resonated at critical touchpoints through the recruitment journey.
Feedback from the client team was overwhelmingly positive. Our approach enabled them to genuinely consider and tap into the emotions and experiences they wanted to create. This focus on prioritising ‘moments that matter’ allowed them to craft a unique and impactful recruitment experience.
By investing the time to understand the work already undertaken, the gaps that existed, and concerns that the client had around further investment, we adopted a flexible approach to ensure client objectives were met, and importantly, confidence was built in the outcomes we would deliver. By using our understanding of psychological science, we adopted a human centric design approach to consider thoughts, feelings and actions at an individual level, to build on the process steps already identified.
