OUR APPROACH

In collaboration with Macdonald Associates, BehaviourLAB developed a leadership program for CEO-1 and CEO-2 levels based on Systems Leadership Theory. The goal was to empower leaders to drive business improvements independently. This involved relationship-building, co-facilitation, and upskilling co-facilitators, focusing on knowledge sharing and confidence in applying Systems Leadership Theory.

ADDING VALUE

We created a 4-day program for leaders to learn about team leadership, team membership, and creating a positive culture. Systems Leadership Theory, built on predictive behavioural models, gave leaders confidence in implementing effective strategies and understanding their consequences within the system.

OUTCOME

Alongside the CEO and COO, we rolled out this program to all senior leaders at Newmont. The modules focused on Culture, Clarity, Capability, and Commitment—critical cultural outcomes identified by the CEO. Our approach upskilled leaders, enabling them to own and implement effective organisational interventions without dependency on external consultants.

CONCLUSION

The topic of leadership can often be abstract, with a lack of direction on what needs to be done and how to do it. By rolling out the practical models within Systems Leadership Theory, we were able to provide the leadership of Newmont with a shared language, framework and toolkit, to work together more effectively and lead their own change, reducing their reliance on external parties to help them navigate the ongoing change associated with all organisations today.

TESTIMONIAL

Sam has made a tremendous impact on our organization. Her facilitation of Systems Leadership Theory for Newmont has been very impactful to our leaders – particularly because Sam is incredibly clear in what she shares and enhances the learning through relevant examples of how these models are applied. Further, Sam has been a great partner to myself and the People Team, providing strategic advice on how to enable culture change through the work we are doing. I couldn’t recommend anyone else more highly!
